Cupcake Basics: Other Helpful Measurements

August 8, 2012 | Leave a Comment!

These measurements are neither here nor there, but will prove helpful in your baking endeavors. A lot of these measurements are obviously Math based, so if you can think back to your high school or secondary school days, you might remember metric conversions and the like. I can’t remember them for the life of me, if you didn’t know, Math was never my favorite subject, hated it! Still do…

Anyways, another reason why Google should be your best friend, did you know it has a calculator? You can type in 112 kilograms in pounds and it will give you the answer! Halleluyer *Madea voice* for Google!

It might be easier to just look at a table, so below are some more measurements:

3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon
2 tablespoons = 1/8 cup or 1 fluid ounce
4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup or 2 fluid ounces
5 1/3 tablespoons = 1/3 cup or 2.67 fluid ounces
8 tablespoons = 1/2 cup or 4 fluid ounces
12 tablespoons = 3/4 cup or 6 fluid ounces
16 tablespoons = 1 cup or 8 fluid ounces
1 cup = 8 fluid ounces
2 cups = 1 pint or 16 fluid ounces
4 cups = 1 quart
